About Us
In January 2009, a good friend and business coach, Gale Dudley, asked me to observe and evaluate three business people as they gave their business presentations.
Well-educated and talented business professionals from different businesses all had one common trait — they all had difficulty making a clear, concise and persuasive presentation to a relatively small group. What was lacking was structure to their messages, how their products and/or services related to their audience, and compelling reasons for audience members to act. Each one displayed varying degrees of uneasiness in addressing the group. Because of their impaired delivery skills, the audience members were distracted and had difficulty paying close attention to their messages.
An Aha Moment!
If these seasoned business people had difficulty making a business presentation, I was sure they were not alone. Born was the Business Presenter’s Club, a business club that met each week to provide a supportive environment where business people could come and practice their presentations.
Since its inception, I have developed training materials to help people acquire knowledge and skills necessary to make great business presentations. Having observed many people who attended the Club, I have witnessed many blossom into very good speakers.
As with any worthwhile endeavor, those who are dedicated to becoming good speakers do and others staying within their comfort zone do not.
The Business Presenter’s Workshops are structured training courses, drawing from the knowledge and experiences gained from the Business Presenter’s Club and the research and study of the latest business presenting materials. Workshops are designed to educate and motivate each student towards acquiring the skills and self-confidence to present well in business. All the education material, methods, and techniques we teach are evaluated, tested, and refined to stay as current as possible with our changing business environment.
This is a fascinating craft to learn and a necessity for those who want to advance in business. Business people who become great at presenting embrace the challenges of studying current information, methods, and techniques and then applying what they learn, make corrections and present again. They never give up until they reach their goal. What makes them succeed is the willingness to do the work, step out of their comfort zone, and practice.
